HEAL Hubs and Communities of Practice (CoPs) are the foundation of the HEAL Network, bringing together Aboriginal Elders and knowledge-holders, community members, researchers, policymakers, service providers, and people with lived experience to drive meaningful change in environmental and climate health.
Operating at local, regional, and state levels, they use participatory action research to ensure that research priorities are community-led, place-based, and grounded in both Indigenous and western knowledges. By empowering participants as co-researchers with real decision-making power, Communities of Practice connect grassroots priorities to policy and practice — ensuring that those most affected by climate and environmental change are at the forefront of shaping solutions.
