The CANBREATHE Project was officially launched on 20 March 2025 at the University of Canberra. The event marked the commencement of this international collaboration addressing landscape fire, smoke, air quality, and public health impacts across the Asia-Pacific region.
The launch was inaugurated by Hon. Bill Shorten, Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of Canberra, and was held in the presence of Her Excellency Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand, and Sisouk Sayyalat, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of Lao PDR. The event was attended by project partners and collaborators both in person and online.
