A/Prof Pauli is an environmental geographer with a strong interest in human–environment interactions in biodiverse and mosaic landscapes. Her research focuses on local ecological knowledge, ecosystem services, and the integration of natural and social systems in environmental management across coastal, agricultural, and urban contexts.
Prior to joining the University of Western Australia, she worked as an environmental scientist in consultancy, as an environmental officer with the Western Australian Department of Water, and in international conservation policy with the Zoological Society of London. She has extensive field experience across diverse ecosystems and cultures in Australia, Central America, Southeast Asia, the Pacific, and Europe.
