Khalid Mehmood

Khalid is an environmental researcher at the HEAL Global Research Centre, University of Canberra, specializing in air quality modelling, emission dynamics, and public health. His research focuses on Asia, particularly China and Pakistan, and extends to Mediterranean urban environments. He studies how emissions from biomass burning, industrial activity, and urbanization reshape atmospheric chemistry, worsen pollution, and threaten ecosystems and public health. He is particularly interested in rapidly changing regions and how evidence-based strategies can improve air quality in vulnerable urban areas. His work is collaborative, engaging scientists, data experts, and policymakers to translate research into real-world solutions.
