Cordia Chu

With a PhD in medical sociology and medical anthropology, Prof Cordia Chu has a keen interest on translational research. Chu’s key areas of research and consulting expertise are: health-promoting settings, environment and health, global health, reproductive health, health promotion and integrated health planning, workplace health promotion and safety management, community development, community needs assessment and policy development, and risk communication and decision-making. She has published six books and over 280 articles and book chapters and has delivered over 92 keynote addresses in conferences, over 150 invited presentations and over 50 conferences papers in international conferences. She has graduated 60 PhDs and her current focus is on the capacity building of public health leadership, One Health & global health security, risk communication and decision-making and climate change health adaptation. Recognized for her contribution in reproductive and public health, she was awarded the Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in 2013.
