Binay Thapa is a HDR student pursuing PhD, and his research project is on “Geospatial modelling of dengue in Asia-Pacific”. Before joining the HRI, University of Canberra, he worked as a virologist/laboratory scientist at the Royal Center for Disease Control in Bhutan for more than a decade. He has significantly contributed to influenza preparedness and response project in Bhutan. He has extensive experience in project management. His expertise includes molecular detection and characterization of viral agents, and molecular epidemiology of infectious diseases of public health concern.
