The HEAL Future Leaders School (FLS) is a flagship capacity‑building initiative of the HEAL National Research Network. It equips emerging public health researchers with interdisciplinary research, leadership, policy translation, and science communication skills to address climate change and improve health outcomes in Australia. Delivered through an intensive week in Canberra (an offered online as a hybrid course), the FLS brings together experienced researchers, public health leaders, and HEAL Early‑ and Mid‑Career Researchers to collaborate, share knowledge, and build lasting networks.
HEAL FLS 2026
The HEAL Future Leaders School (FLS) 2026 brought together HEAL-funded and affiliated early- and mid-career researchers from across Australia for an inspiring week of learning, collaboration, and connection. Held from 25–29 May 2026 at the University of Canberra, the program strengthened skills in interdisciplinary research, policy translation, science communication, and leadership through interactive sessions, panels, and site visits, with a diverse cohort that included representation from First Nations researchers and those working in regional and remote areas.
